Mocking Bird
The Coexistence of Good and Evil

Concept Book Design: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. In this design, I explored the central theme of the book: the innocence with which we are born and how it is gradually eroded by life’s experiences, ultimately shaping us into who we become.

I began by using two contrasting backgrounds: black and white, to symbolize the constant presence of both good and evil in the world.

I focused on the details to highlight the significance of the small, often overlooked elements in the story, emphasizing their impact on the overall narrative.

I used two distinct elements—dots and lines—to create key illustrations throughout the book, such as the bird, to emphasize the central themes and pivotal phases within the story.

The transformation of dots into lines symbolizes the loss of innocence in humans, illustrating how it is gradually shaped and affected by the coexistence of good and bad throughout life.

In this spread, letters and words were arranged to create a chaotic scene, symbolizing a turning point in the story.
